Communication from the Heart
If we listen to our hearts and watch our actions, we learn from ourselves. We learn where we have work to do. We don't have to superimpose any "do's" and "don'ts." We discover for ourselves that the truth has no single form, that truth is only in the moment and can always be discovered right there. There's no reality to create. There's only a reality to tune in to.
As we tune in more and more to our heart, to ourselves, we discover that there's also a silent transmission of heart between people. The heart recognizes that words are often an excuse for people to communicate while the real communication is taking place. Indeed, words sometimes even block the heart by keeping the reception only in the mind, instead of allowing it to be sensed from that place where we can experience another person within ourselves. When we experience that deep connection of intuitive mind to intuitive mind, the separation between beings melts away and communication has less to do with words.
Through the heart, we can transmit our growing awareness and our respect for other's growth; we can share the spirit with another. We can communicate our caring without getting lost in the magic of it; with a pure intention that opens out to others, that brings the heart into the world: the merging of the inner and outer realities, the essence of compassion and right action.
As we develop this communication, we find that not only are we more able to speak through the heart, but that we are more able to hear it, to receive more through the heart. We notice that we can more clearly sense the appropriate response to the conditions of the moment. Clearly, the heart opens the mind just as the mind opens the heart. ~ Stephen Levine
