Enlightened Behavior
Don’t think this enlightened behavior makes you special. You don’t congratulate yourself for helping others, just as you wouldn’t congratulate yourself for healing your own leg when you hurt it. It is natural for you to love your leg because it is one with you, so it is natural for you to love others. You would certainly never harm another being. As the great Indian Buddhist sage Shantideva wrote, “How wonderful will it be when all beings experience each other as limbs on the body of life!”
It might not be prudent for you to pursue this further implication of the infinite lifestyle right away. You might feel momentarily inspired, but then get discouraged and lose your determination, and the negative evolutionary momentum from such a reversal would be too severe. For example, you might start out wanting to save all beings from suffering but quickly get annoyed with someone just beyond hope.
You may end up feeling alienated and not giving a damn about anyone, maybe even abandoning altogether your belief in infinite life and all the positive work you’ve already accomplished. Just think of it as an experimental idea for now.
